![]() ![]() RC to me wasn't worth the time I put into it, let alone a single penny. Look for it on their web site as it can be discounted there while full price at Steam. RE to me is worth full price, and goes on deep sale often. A few RE fans have figured out how to work with RC, but I've never seen a post suggesting the details I want in such a system. I like the concept of the game, I just don't believe train pathing and movement will ever be well-defined or in good control for the player. Look at the content of the postings there - lots of bugs and confusion dominate the conversation. Today I see the new thread on that forum is that someone has trains stuck. There have been a couple of updates to "fix" this, the last being yesterday. The main issue is the lack of authority to control trains and no insight into what the automatic system is trying to do. RE developed into a good game with some minor nagging issues. I have followed both forums from the beginning, and bought both early. Let me know what you think and feel free to comment. It will be interesting to see how the developers progress with RC but at least for me, it's not ready to take my cash. I already have RE but have not played or even installed it yet but I plan to. If it was around $10, I'd take a chance on it so that I can really compare the 2. It's too bad that even the sale price of $22 is too steep for me to take a chance on this game. I think RC could be a good game but it has a ways to go before I decide to buy it. I would also like to be able to zoom in closer in RC. I hate to be rushed! Anyway, a sand box mode will take care of that problem once it's put in the game. The fact that campaigns are timed in RC really turns me off but that's just me. RC reminds me a lot of RRT with lots of emphasis on the strategy and economic side of the game. Also appealing for me is sandbox mode which RC doesn't have, at least yet. ![]() I very much love the fact that you can ride along with your trains and get a close up look of the tracks you laid down. I also love the fact that you can zoom in close to buildings and surroundings and watch people going about their lives. It seems like you have much more freedom in laying track. For one thing, I really like the way track layout is done in RE. Note that I have not yet played either game. See if you agree or disagree and feel free to offer your opinions. These are my observations from watching video reviews of both games. ![]()
